Attained the A.R.C.T. (Associateship) in Voice in both Performers & Teachers from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, winning a number of Scholarships & Awards along the way.
Studied singing with Jean Marie Scott from the Royal Conservatory of Music, as well as Vocal Coaching from Victor McCorry, Voice Production & Opera from Madam Re Koster of the Paris Opera Co.(Summer Course), & has continued studies with Ginette Duplessis of the R.C.M.
Is a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers Assoc., the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers & the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
Has been a member of the Barrie Branch of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers Assoc. (ORMTA) since 1978.
Has been teaching Voice in the Barrie area since 1972.
Was awarded Music Teacher of the Year in 1996 by ORMTA.
A number of her students have won top Awards at Local Music Festivals & Provincial Competitions, as well as winning Silver Medals from the Royal Conservatory of Music for highest Examination results in the Province and Eastern Canada. Students have also won ORMTA Examination Awards for highest marks on Conservatory Exams in the Simcoe County area.
Has taught & trained local music teachers Edwina Douglas, Sandy Dalton, Cyndi Van Arragon, Kate McIntyre, Kim McMaster, Ruth Muxworthy, MacKenzie Gallinger, Julie McFadden as well as others, & has had a number of students go on to become professional performers, such as Erin Lawson.
Conducts Vocal Workshops, Master Classes, & Adjudicates at Music Festivals.
Was the Examination Centre Representative for the Royal Conservatory of Music Examination Department, Toronto for 20 years. Has performed on both National & Local Television, as well as performing at concerts, conferences, churches, civic functions, etc across the province.
Has been Guest Soloist with the King Edward Choir, the Huronia Symphony Orchestra, Serenata Choir, Tapestry Chamber Choir, the Apollo Ensemble, the Talisker Players, the Galliard Ensemble, & the Festival of Male Voice Praise.
Has made a Gospel/Sacred recording.
Maintains a home studio near Anten Mills as well as in the east end of Barrie.
