Branch Competition Form

There are 8 Categories: Instrumental Levels 6 & 7, Vocal Levels 6 & 7, Instrumental Levels 8 & 9, Instrumental Levels 10 & Associate, Vocal Levels 8 & 9, Vocal Levels 10 & Associate, and Young Artist Instrumental & Vocal Level Associate or higher (bi-annually on even years).

Teachers: carefully review all rules and regulations on the ORMTA provincial website for levels 8 to Young Artist before registering your student(s). There are separate pages for instrumental and voice. These rules must be reviewed and meticulously followed by the Competitions Convenor, all members of the Competitions Committee, and all teachers who register students to compete.

Level 6&7 Rules:

• It is the responsibility of the teacher and student to read and follow the rules and

requirements. Pay special attention to age, repertoire selection, and program length.

• Entries which do not meet the requirements will be disqualified from participating.

• Competitors who do not meet the requirements will be disqualified from advancing.

• No refunds will be issued.

• Repertoire should be chosen from an officially recognized Canadian syllabus, such as that of the

Royal Conservatory of Music, Conservatory Canada, Canadian National Conservatory of Music,
Contemporary Showcase, or the Canadian Music Showcase.

• The performance time must be under 10 minutes.

• There are no age limits at the North Central Zone Competition Level 6 & 7.
