Wing is known to be a passionate music specialist in elementary education from the University of Calgary. Along with her highly successful years as a music specialist with the Calgary Board of Education, she has started her home studio in Bracebridge “Inspiring Sounds Music Studio” after she moved to Muskoka in 2004 where she offers Piano, Vocal, Theory and Music Theatre classes. She moved to Barrie in February, 2017 and opened her new studio in the Holly neighborhood, South Barrie.
Her piano and singing students won numerous awards at the local and provincial levels. Many of her students achieved very high standards with Royal Conservatory Exams.
Some of these achievements include:
· achieved 100% perfect scores in Theory exams
· achieved First Class Honors with Distinctions (over 90%) in Practical exams.
· achieved special awards and scholarships from Orillia Kiwanis Music Festival, South Simcoe Arts Council Music Festival and Barrie Music Festival in all levels.
· Ontario Music Festival Provincial finalists and winners
· Students were accepted to post-secondary music programs at U of T, York University, Sheridan College including the well-known Young Canadian Tenor, Daevyd Pepper.
Her interest in teaching music and dedication to young people is reflected in her many years of involvement in music festivals and public performances. Along with her students, Wing organizes fund raising concerts which has raised over $12,000 to support the local charities in Muskoka for the past 12 years. Wing has a great passion for teaching young children and promoting quality music education.
